The Platinum Group

Trading in The Platinum Group: Ores

We have multiple metals in the platinum group, but the most popular metal in this group that we sell is Rhodium. We sell Rhodium ores, which refers to Rhodium which has been extracted from the ground and has not yet been processed into a usable form. Rhodium is often found in the form of ore and must be extracted from the ground and refined before it can be used in industrial or commercial applications.

Rough rhodium is often purchased by refineries or other companies that specialize in the refining of precious metals. These companies have the equipment and expertise necessary to extract the rhodium from the ore and to purify it to a level that meets industry standards.

Trading in the Platinum Group: Refined Bars or Powder

We are a dealer who specialize in unrefined and refined rhodium. We have expertise in the rhodium market and a network of contacts within the industry. We offer assaying and testing services to determine the quality and purity of unrefined rhodium ore before it is purchased.

We work with refineries directly to refine rhodium into the bar form or powder form. Our rhodium ores contain approximately 2% rhodium.

Refining rhodium typically involves several stages of processing, including crushing and milling the ore, separating the rhodium from other metals and impurities, and then purifying it through chemical treatment and electrolysis. The final product is a highly pure form of rhodium.

RHodium Bars

Rough Rhodium Bars

Rough rhodium bars, also known as "sponge" or "powder" rhodium, are unprocessed forms of the metal that have not yet been melted or refined. They are typically produced by extracting the metal from its ore through a chemical process that results in the formation of a powder or sponge-like material.

Once produced, rough rhodium bars are typically further processed to refine and purify the metal, usually by melting it down and then casting it into a bar shape. The refined bars can then be used in a variety of industrial applications, including in the production of catalytic converters, electronic components, and jewelry.

RHodium Ore

Rhodium (Rh) is a rare and highly valuable metal that belongs to the platinum group of metals. It has a high melting point, high corrosion resistance, and is highly reflective, making it an important material for a variety of industrial and technological applications.

Rhodium is typically used as a catalyst in a variety of chemical reactions, including those used to produce chemicals for the automotive, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries. It is also used as a plating material for jewelry, silverware, and other decorative items, as it is highly reflective and durable.

Rhodium is a very rare metal, and as a result, it is highly valued and can be quite expensive. Its price can fluctuate significantly depending on supply and demand factors, with periods of high demand driving up the price significantly.

palladium

Palladium Ore

Palladium (Pd) is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal that belongs to the platinum group of elements.

Palladium ore is a rare and valuable mineral that typically contains high concentrations of palladium, along with other metals such as platinum, gold, and silver. Palladium ore deposits are typically found in association with igneous rocks, including mafic and ultramafic intrusions, and can also be found in certain sedimentary deposits.

Palladium ore is primarily used in the production of catalytic converters for vehicles, which are designed to reduce harmful emissions from vehicle exhaust. It is also used in a range of other industrial and technological applications, including electronics, dental and medical equipment, and the production of chemicals such as fertilizers, plastics, and pharmaceuticals.

Platinum

Platinum Ore

Platinum (Pt) is a dense, silvery-white metal that belongs to the platinum group of elements, which includes six metals with similar physical and chemical properties. Platinum is one of the rarest and most valuable metals in the world, with a range of industrial, medical, and decorative uses.

Platinum ore is a naturally occurring mineral that typically contains high concentrations of platinum, along with other metals such as palladium, rhodium, iridium, and osmium. Platinum ore deposits are found in various locations around the world, including South Africa, Russia, Canada, and the United States.

Platinum ore is primarily used in a range of industrial and technological applications, including the production of catalytic converters for vehicles, electrical contacts, and jewelry. Platinum's unique properties, such as its resistance to corrosion and high melting point, make it a valuable material for use in a wide range of industrial and technological applications.

Iridium

Iridium Ore

Iridium (Ir) is a rare and highly dense metal that belongs to the platinum group of elements. It is known for its extreme hardness, high melting point, and excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation, making it an important material for a range of industrial and technological applications.

Iridium is used in a variety of electronic applications, including the production of electrical contacts and magnetic alloys. It is also used in the production of medical equipment, such as pacemakers and dental fillings.

Iridium is a very rare metal, with the majority of the world's supply coming from mines in South Africa and Russia.
